About
Jasmine Waldorf is a multi-disciplinary artist, born, raised and residing in South East London. Her analogue street photography is birthed from candid encounters. Talking to strangers and documenting the sprawling city around her produces intimate portraits which evoke an appreciation of beauty in the mundane. With no formal education in photography, Jasmine started using a camera in primary school, assembling and photographing scenes of her toys. Some of these shots were published in 2020 by “Jawbreaker zine”.
Her self published photobook, “R KID” depicting the modern day punk community of Manchester, created in collaboration with Ilford 2023 Analogue Community Grant award winning photographer, Anni Kay has sold over 250 copies. “ R KID” has been stocked in Peckham Books, Common Press & The DIY art store.
Jasmine is a creative facilitator, leading art workshops in community settings. She has worked in galleries, pupil referral units, prisons, youth centres for young people experiencing homelessness and within mental health support structures, both clinical and holistic. She is currently based at Arts Network, a wellbeing and arts charity in South London and has a studio space at Art Hub.
